24. Vestry Windows


Some of the vestry windows were dedicated in 1963 as a commemoration of the centenary of the congregation and the others were added later as memorials to the persons named.

In the vestry, left transept is a set of windows characterised by the display at the top of the Presbyterian badge and motto. The latter, ‘Nec Tamen Consumebator’ translates from the Latin to ‘Yet it was not consumed’ and refers to the episode recorded in Exodus 3, verse 2 when Moses saw the angel of the Lord appear to him in flame of fire out of the midst of a bush and the bush was not consumed. It is a symbol of the faith that cannot be extinguished.
